2010 KIDS FINE ARTS FESTIVAL INFORMATION

This has been a great month of celebrating life!  This week we studied Jesus calling Peter, Andrew, James and John.  We also learned that to follow someone you need to know:

1.   Who called you= God did.

2.   Who YOU are= God’s child through Jesus Christ

3.   Where are you= in God’s hands, His plan, protected and loved

4.   WHY are you= here to love God and know Him and to loves others as yourself.

KIDS FINE ARTS UPDATE

Kids fine Arts = is April 10^th and we will start practicing our choir song and human video Feb 21^st 9:30 AM room 5- Parents meeting Feb 21^st 9:30 AM room 5.

Kids Camp is coming up please get your applications and deposits in by April 15^th

5-7 year olds= June 17-19 cost 120.00

8-12 year olds= June 23-26  cost 165.00

Parents please mark your calendars here too. You will never be the same after attending Kids Camp!  The bonding time with your child and the LORD IS PRICELESS!!

ONE Month to Celebrate started off with a Bang!

This Sunday Kidz Zone learned about living:

1. The Abundant Life God wants us to live. John 10:10 Here we stuck our finger in a glass of water then removed it,,, look no change in the water, God made us to make a difference in our world,, like putting our finger into putty to leave a mark, God designed us to leave a legacy in our world.

2. We are designed to do Great Things. Hebrews 12:1  Just consider our awesome our bodies are made!! GOD made this great body Ready to GO! Then He gave us the Bible to clearly mark the path He designed for us.

3. We are Designed for A Purpose. Ephesians 2:10 & John 15:16  We looked at some beautiful pictures, with a hole cut out in the center of the page. Each hole was the same size,, to discover: God has a beautiful individual plan for each of us. We may look alike on the outside, we may fit into other pictures but… but each of us are designed to fit PERFECTLY into the Plan GOD made for us, and only we can complete THAT plan.

Parents please read the Bible Book Marks with Your Child; these 3-5 minute daily Bible verses are to restate what we learned, help them to remember and meditate on what God has for us, and to open times of sharing with your child.   Help your child bring them back to church for points and rewards.

Pre-school Aged Classes took a “trip” just like Joseph, Mary, and little Jesus did, we learned that God cares for us and protects us, He gives us families to care for us.

The Month of February is known as heart healthy month. That theme is also echoed in Kidz Zone.
In January we reflected about how our toys can remind us of God’s goodness, this month we are touching [and tasting] the theme of how our candy can remind us about God’s goodness.

Along with these thoughts we are also repeating our church’s theme, “Luke 1:37 For nothing is impossible with God.“  and the month’s emphasis that “no illness is to difficult for GOD“.

Feb 1st we focused on the country of France and BGMC. Do you know only 5 out of 100 people in France have ever touched a Bible, and it is illegal to hand out Bibles on the streets? Our missionaries need our prayers and support NOW!  This country is spiritually sick and God’s love and salvation is the only thing that can truly heal them.

Feb 8th the focus was on Samson and guarding our hearts against repaying evil for evil to anyone, Romans 12:17. When we allow revenge to remain in our hearts we become spiritually blind to who we are hurting,  and our hearts continuing to get harder and harder, only God’s powerful Word can heal our hearts of the hurts and rock hard feelings blocking our relationship with the Lord and others.   Bubbles, balloons and foam were used to show how we use God’s Word to clean out our hearts.

Feb 15th  In spite of our culture’s attention on children and promoting their well being, many children still struggle with personal feelings of insignificance. Exploring Philippians 4:13. God’s love and attention to our lives makes us significant and a vital part of sharing God with our friends.

Feb 22nd is pointing our focus off of our surroundings and  back on God, His glory, His Almighty Power, His Never-ending Sovereignty.  Yes! Our God is bigger, better, stronger, than any idol or any thing this world could ever give us. As we go through life, it is how we go through stuff that shows others God is real and He will do what He said He would do.

CATEGORIES
Ministry categories are not intended to be all-inclusive of any talent available. They are intended to represent the most prevalent ministries, as well as those ministries most easily utilized by children. The scheduling of these performances can be a huge task unless there are certain boundaries. The ministries will be divided into two categories: presentation ministries and creation ministries. Please use wisdom in how many categories each child is allowed to enter.
PRESENTATION MINISTRIES
Ministries performed in front of coaches are called Presentation Ministries. These ministries would include:

Creation ministries are ministries that are delivered to the proper location at the beginning of the event and then evaluated without the children present. You may attach in writing any details about your entry. Creative writing entries must be mailed in with the registration to be evaluated early. Creation events include:

Kids Fine Arts is held every year and is an opportunity for our children to gain experience and confidence in working with a drama group. There are MANY other areas available for your child to enter individually as well (Music, Drama, Hobbies, Culinary Skills, Accomplishments, Science Projects, Sports.)  This commitment to the group will be for 9 weeks consecutively. Practice times will be from 9:30-10:15 EVERY SUNDAY. We will be competing at the North Texas District Kids Fine Arts April 4th .   They will come home beaming with success and pride in a job well done. Each child will receive a medal for each event of competition they participate in.  The theme this year is “I’ll Go”.
