Junior Bible Quiz Engages kids from kindergarten through 6th grade in daily memorization and repetition of Bible verses and truths. The 576 questions (of various degrees of difficulty) include the proof scriptures for all of our major doctrines. They cover the Bible from Genesis to Revelation. Kids who are involved with their parents for at least 4 years become so well grounded in truth that they defy the trends in American churches (including Assemblies of God). They remain in church after leaving High School.

JBQ takes advantage of the two greatest motivational triggers in children of this age group.

1. JBQ is fun! Kids love interaction with other churches. They love the camaraderie of a team. They grow together as their leaders pray with them and explain spiritual truths day by day.
2. JBQ is competition in a Godly atmosphere. Every day of their lives from cradle to grave they will be involved in competition: in school, on the job, everywhere they turn they must compete to survive. At this age they love it. What better time to teach them Christian values in actual competition. It really works! Many of the most intense competitors on opposite teams become closest of friends after quizzing is finished each month

Happy Valentines Month

The Month of February is known as heart healthy month. That theme is also echoed in Kidz Zone.
In January we reflected about how our toys can remind us of God’s goodness, this month we are touching [and tasting] the theme of how our candy can remind us about God’s goodness.

Along with these thoughts we are also repeating our church’s theme, “Luke 1:37 For nothing is impossible with God.“  and the month’s emphasis that “no illness is to difficult for GOD“.

Feb 1st we focused on the country of France and BGMC. Do you know only 5 out of 100 people in France have ever touched a Bible, and it is illegal to hand out Bibles on the streets? Our missionaries need our prayers and support NOW!  This country is spiritually sick and God’s love and salvation is the only thing that can truly heal them.

Feb 8th the focus was on Samson and guarding our hearts against repaying evil for evil to anyone, Romans 12:17. When we allow revenge to remain in our hearts we become spiritually blind to who we are hurting,  and our hearts continuing to get harder and harder, only God’s powerful Word can heal our hearts of the hurts and rock hard feelings blocking our relationship with the Lord and others.   Bubbles, balloons and foam were used to show how we use God’s Word to clean out our hearts.

Feb 15th  In spite of our culture’s attention on children and promoting their well being, many children still struggle with personal feelings of insignificance. Exploring Philippians 4:13. God’s love and attention to our lives makes us significant and a vital part of sharing God with our friends.

Feb 22nd is pointing our focus off of our surroundings and  back on God, His glory, His Almighty Power, His Never-ending Sovereignty.  Yes! Our God is bigger, better, stronger, than any idol or any thing this world could ever give us. As we go through life, it is how we go through stuff that shows others God is real and He will do what He said He would do.

Kids Fine Arts practices are rolling along great! Checkout the long list of categories to see what your child would like to participate in.  I need your child’s application by March 1st

INDOOR SWIM AT AQUATIC CENTER , COPPELL   – Friday, February 6, at 7 PM – 9:30 PM

Cost:  $3      Parents are welcome to stay, but if you chose to drop your child off at the Aquatic Center, you must sign a permission slip.

BGMC Garage Sale – March 13-14th

Start collecting your stuff!! Parents who work this event will be helping their child to raise money BGMC  Parents we will need your help and stuff to staff and sort for this event!! Our Missionaries desperately need your help!!

BGMC Challenge – Ongoing

For every child who individually raises over $100 for BGMC by November 2009 will get to cut 3inches off Pastor Karon’s hair in December!!! Will you dare?????

Here is an update of what is going on with Living Hope Kidz!

Wednesday, December 31 – No kids activities.

Saturday, January 3rd & 10th (4-5PM) – Save a little energy to go knocking on our neighbor’s doors passing out invitations to our January Kidz Convention with “What Now Ministries,” a camp-like environment with a living message for today.  We will meet here at the Living Hope Church at 4PM, walk our neighborhood and be back at 5PM.  Parents, you are welcome to come with us.  If you cannot attend with your child, you will need to sign our Parent Permission Statement before leaving your child.

Kidz Convention with “What Now Ministries”

“What Now Ministries” team will be in Living Hope KidZone Services on January 14th, 18th, 21st and 25th.  A dynamic team passionately delivering the Gospel Message packaged in crazy skits, characters and songs.  Your child will be learning God’s Word all the while laughing and being energized for the new Year.

ALL CHILDREN’S MINISTRY Team Members, please attend your regularly committed services.

“I’LL GO” – Kids Fine Arts Theme for 2009

Fine Arts occurs on April 4th.

Fine Arts is a new opportunity for your child to showcase his/her gifts and talents: Musically, Dramatically, Hobbies, Culinary Skills, Accomplishments, Science Projects, Sports or other ways they GO EVERYWHERE sharing Jesus Christ their Savior.

We have a drama skit we would like to present, but am in need of an adult leader to be the contact person for a 13 member drama team.

Practice begins immediately.

BGMC – First Sunday of each month – January 4th

Kids bring your Buddy Barrel full of coins so we can help our missionaries minister to children around the world.
